Check out the water and the density of the vegetation. Spectacular.
Sadly, you really can't get the full impact of the water's color here. Even if we stitched a bunch of photos together and posted a panoramic shot, it wouldn't do it justice. But even within this limited view, you can see a multitude of different blues, mixed with greens and other colors. In three words: Worth the hike.
Kat, about 10-20 feet away. Look at the water clarity. And this was on a rough day. The seas were really quite violent, which means that what you see here amounts to "stirred up." Imagine what "calm" looks like.
Some local coral. No flash needed!
Kat & I a bit beneath the waves. For those of you interested, the AquaLung Impulse 3 snorkel is really quite nice. I think I should get a kickback from AquaLung for that ad... :)
And we saw Nemo (and like 10 of his buddies) hiding in some wavy sea anemones.
Another plug for aqua gear: these photos were taken with a Fuji Finepix F30 and the Fuji underwater housing. Together, they ran us the princely sum of $400. Considering that some underwater camera housings cost several times that, I think we got a screaming deal.
More amazing coral and breathtaking colors in the background.
I think this is coral, but whatever it is, it looks cool.
Kat and I on the beach at Haputo. Look at the water and the vegetation! The beach was all super-soft and pristine. Just an amazing little place. Hard to believe more folks don't go here. Also pretty hard to believe that Kat's 6 months pregnant. Anyone else agree with me? Post your opinions below!
