Boonie Stomp #4 - Tarzan Falls

So there we were... armed with a compass, a map, satellite imagery, a bag full of lunch-related goodies and a sense of "this time, we're going to find this place", the four of us headed out for a three-hour tour of Tarzan Falls.

"A three-hour tour..."

The crew sets out to find Tarzan... or at least his waterfalls.

One of the party contends, "We're not lost. The falls are."

There's a lot of cool scenery here on Guam, regardless of what you're actually looking for.

Here's the field where we collectively said, "It might be time to call it a day."

Translation: "You know, that valley up ahead looks really inviting, but it's a long, muddy walk back to the car as it is and that hike back up the sheer walls through who-knows-what might not sweeten the experience at all."

Dad's cool tree. Turns out this is a "walking tree" -- it sends down root systems that follow the best nutrients. Over time it will actually move the tree itself... if the nutrients move. Pretty unusual. But then, again, a lot of things here are a little unusual. Fish that fly, trees that walk... what is this, Lord of the Rings? The scenery actually does look a lot like it, in some respects...
